Hired in 2011, Coach Bishop is the first Varsity Head Football Coach for Regent Prep.
During his first three seasons at Regent, he led a co-op program with other schools in the Tulsa area. Since joining the OSSAA, he has compiled a 30-10 record. In 2016, the Rams went 8-4 reaching the State Quarterfinals. The 2017 team set a new school record with 10 wins finishing the season 10-2. The 2017 Rams reached the State Quarterfinals for the second consecutive year and finished the season ranked no. 3 in the state.
In his seven seasons, Regent has set numerous State and National records on the field. Off the field, the Rams were crowned 2016 Academic State Champions.
Bishop came to Regent from Parkers Chapel High School in Arkansas, whose football program he helped begin in 2003. In the program's sixth year, the Trojans advanced to the Class 3A State Playoffs for the first time.
Bishop's coaching stops also include assistant posts at Star City, Arkansas (varsity wide receivers, junior high offensive coordinator).
Bishop was a varsity letterman in Football, Basketball, and Baseball at Norphlet High School in Arkansas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Southern Arkansas University in 2002.
Bishop and his wife, Kelly, have three children — John David, Judson, and Owen. They reside in Bixby and are members of Evergreen Baptist Church.
