THROWBACK THURSDAY to last month when each Class 2 section stepped back in time to experience what life would be like as a pioneer. They visited Prairie Song near Dewey, Oklahoma, an authentic pioneer village full of real antique furniture and items from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Many of the items in the buildings were described in the books they read in literature studies and their read-alouds in Class 2. Some of the highlights of the day included reciting âSurvival at Valley Forgeâ in the schoolhouse, comparing the schoolhouse with the old fashioned desks to their classrooms, playing on the wooden merry-go-round, selling produce in the Trading Post and purchasing candy sticks and root beer in the General Store, and being herded to jail by the town marshal. #classicanchristianeducation #regentfieldtrip
